Hands on woodwork days for years 5 & 6

Design and build a range of practical woodwork projects

This is a new project offered by Lifeworlds and provides a hands-on woodwork day for primary learners in years 5 and 6. We work with the school to choose an appropriate project whether individual or team based and will provide full support from design to delivery. This includes all safety and risk assessment for the activities.

The woodwork days are best suited to smaller groups of pupils working closely together in teams, but each project is bespoke so feel free to contact us and see what we could offer if it is of interest.

Below are some images from a year 5 and 6 project at Ilam School in Staffordshire to build a friendship and reading bench for the school grounds. The pupils came up with the design, visited the timber yard to choose the materials and completed the entire project (measuring, cutting, fixing etc) in small teams. The bench is now a popular part of the school environment!
