Quick-Links
Beginning in the academic year 2010-11, Lifeworlds Learning joined forces with other learning communities under a new umbrella body called MELA.
MELA is an initiative of Lifeworlds Learning and provides its constituent learning communities (including our own Lifeworlds community) with a one-stop shop for network services including website, newsletter, clubs and societies, membership news and provider portfolios.
MELA is run by Lifeworlds Learning as part of its community interest commitment and membership fees for MELA are kept as low as possible to reflect this with all income being at least match funded by Lifeworlds and in many cases, substantially exceeded.
If you are interested in joining MELA then click here or on the MELA tab that appears in the Quick Links on every page of this website.
If you are an organisation or learning community and would like to become part of MELA then contact us for an initial conversation.
What others say about MELA
"Thank you for all the brilliant work you are doing keeping this network together"
Kate Shaw, Food for Life Partnership, East Midlands Coordinator
"Thanks for the latest MELA newsletter - it lead me to watch your recommendation of the Chimamanda Adichie: The danger of a single story TED talk - great link! Thanks for that. Came across it at just the right time as we ran a course yesterday about bringing global issues into the classroom through literacy - we used part of the film and it was really well received by the teachers. Thanks!"
Paul Green, Regional Project Manager, One World Network North East
"Thanks to Lifeworlds Learning for the new MELA website - clear and clean and a great tool to keep us all in touch with each other and developments. I have missed the useful up-dates from Rohini, pointing us all to key events, new developments and the all important sharing of good ideas. I know we all have our contacts, and can certainly communicate, but what this offers is something systematic and inclusive - and will hopefully draw in new-comers, as well as keeping the established people in the loop."
Linda Barker, EMNGPS Executive / Transition Group Member
"Many CONGRATULATIONS on an amazing website - it was a real treat to open it up in the first week back at work after the break, heralding as it does a new era in the partnership journey. It is an extremely comprehensive site, very clearly laid out and labelled which is refreshing"
Claire Plumb, Leicester Masaya Link Group and GELS
"Thanks for the weblink to the new MELA website - it is fantastic - bringing together key areas of learning (GL, SS, CC etc) in a logical way, clearly signposting events/ CPD opportunities/ resources and stimulating discussion and critical reflection. I feel that MELA has a bright future and am delighted that it is a manifestation of EMNGPS's legacy."
Rohini Corfield, Widening Participation Officer, Northampton University and former EMNGPS coordinator
