Quick-Links
Lifeworlds Learning was conceived by Rob Bowden in 2007 and became a reality when Rob joined forces with co-founder Rosie Wilson in 2008.
In September 2010, Lifeworlds Learning passed the necessary tests to become a Community Interest Company (CIC). As a CIC, we follow a social enterprise model with all profits reinvested into the company, for the benefit of our community. Our community interest statement ensures that our activies will provide benefit to:
"learning communities within England, by providing access to courses, resources and projects that inspire critical learning and strategic creativity in both the formal and informal sectors."
Fundamental to Lifeworlds Learning is a belief in experiential learning and the transformative impact that this can have on both individuals and societies. We use this core understanding to create and respond to debates about the motivations, functions, and aspirations of learning.
We believe that learning should be creative and enjoyable, but that this should be underpinned by rigour and integrity. We use critical approaches to learning and participatory methodologies to draw inspiration from everyday lived experiences. These combine in the theory of Lifeworlds that informs the values and ideas in our work.
